RE: [hreg] Help with solar info please
Thanks for the ideas, Susan and Bashir. I’ll try Clifton . I looked again at SunLab (Sandia/NREL) website and found another old report.
“The objective of the Nevada 1-MW Solar Dish-
Engine Project is to demonstrate 1 megawatt of
dish-engine, field-validation, power generation
systems in a solar plant near Las Vegas , NV .
The installation and testing of the systems will
occur over a period of three years starting in
2002 and continuing though 2004.”
I don’t think that happened.

You might want to ask Clifton a Cliffworldwide@ gmail.com.
He's a solar expert in California

In preparing for the solar thermal presentation at Sunday’s HREG meeting I’ve been trying to find the latest status on the dish stirling power plants in California . But the latest news I can find on the Internet is over a year old (see below). Does anybody know what happened with this in 2006?
Stirling Energy Systems is planning to build a 500-megawatt solar generating station in the Mojave Desert for Southern California Edison and a 300 MW solar power plant, which consists of 12,000 Stirling solar dishes on approximately three square miles in the Imperial Valley of Southern Cali Diego Gas & Electric according to Oct. 2005 reports.
