      You can just go to the wwwsite for NABCEP and find out about their voluntary PV certification process first hand. Keep in mind that you must be able to prove a minimum amount of experience in the industry to qualify to take the 4 hour test.

      To become an installer of renewable energy, I would contact the Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association (TRIEA) and become a member.  They should be able to tell you about certification necessary in Texas, and they have workshops on the topic.  To become a dealer, you apply to and work with manufacturers of solar equipment (BP, Shell, Sharp, etc.).  You can contact our member businesses for advice (see the HREG web page).
