      has the answer to your question about listing your event,

      How to be listed in the Texas State Travel Guide and the TravelTex
      Web
      Site
      The Texas State Travel Guide is often described as the nation's premier
      state travel publication. It invites potential visitors and traveling
      Texans
      to discover the colorful diversity of the Lone Star State. It also
      invites
      them to discover your attraction. With descriptions of more than 400
      cities
      and towns, potential visitors select from a wealth of scenic, historical
      and
      recreational destinations The travel guide is distributed is distributed
      free, one to a requestor, along with the Texas Official Travel Map. It is
      the fulfillment piece along with the map, sent to all requests resulting
      from the Texas Department of Economic Development Tourism Division's
      advertising campaign for the State of Texas. (In addition each listing is
      available on the TravelTex Web Site.)
      Communities wanting to be listed in the Texas State Travel Guide should
      have:

      * A legitimate tourist attraction or museum open at specified hours.
      (It
      could be open only on a Saturday afternoon from 2-4 p.m., but visitors
      traveling through the area would know the exact time and location.)
      Attractions open "by appointment only" do not qualify.

      Texas Travel Guide welcomes input from communities and attractions
      concerning:

      * Opening of new attractions
      * Closing of old attractions
      * New addresses and telephone numbers
      * New Photographs. Photos must be original color transparencies,
      either
      4X5, 2-1/4" or 35mm. Photos must be in sharp focus, and include people
      enjoying the attractions area. Scenics are nice, but people like to
      visualize themselves being there.

      Please give editor Mike Talley (512/486-5872) a call at the Travel
      Publishing office to discuss the possibility of being entered in the
      guide.
