      Here's the latest development in refrigeration using bio-based thermal storage energy technology --- the correct terminology is "phase change materials". Actually, there are many possible applications with the potential to reduce, for example, HVAC costs by 35%. The solution uses 100% renewable resources and has a 6-month biodegradable rating. . .all veggie based.

      World's Coldest Beer Made Possible Through The Use of Vegetables

      Minneapolis-based technology company introduces Chillin' Brew™ panels for beer lovers worldwide


      MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Entropy Solutions, Inc., a Minneapolis based bio-based specialty company, today announced the launch of Chillin’ Brew™ panels, an innovative product designed and engineered to keep your beer at the absolute coldest temperature possible.

      Chillin’ Brew™ panels utilize a special formulation of Entropy Solutions’ patented and proprietary renewable based PureTemp phase change materials (PCM). PureTemp is a bio-based thermal energy storage technology that can “dial in” and maintain very tight temperature ranges for extended periods of time. Derived from 100 percent sustainable sources, PureTemp is engineered to maintain more than 200 different transition temperatures with consistent, repeatable performance.

      Traditionally beer drinkers have had to settle for ice, which must be constantly replenished and can’t reach that perfect cold beer temperature. Testing has revealed that the formulation used in Chillin’ Brew™ panels maintain beer at 1/10th of degree above the temperature before beer goes from liquid to slush and holds it there for hours on end – a temperature unattainable with ice. Chillin’ Brew™ panels are made from a durable high density polyethylene allowing the Chillin’ Brew panels to be used hundreds of times over.
