Speakers announced for opening session
Opening keynote session includes Mayor
Lee Leffingwell (City of Austin), C. Donald Babers (Regional
Administrator for Region VI, U.S. HUD), and Chairman Barry Smitherman (Public
Utility Commission of Texas).
Additional featured keynote speakers include Mike Savonis (Federal
Highway Administration) , Guy
Donaldson, (Section Chief, EPA Region 6), Carl E. Edlund, P.E.
(Director, Multimedia Planning and Permitting Division, EPA-Region 6) and
James M. Crites (Executive

University’s Energy Systems Laboratory (ESL) is offering several training
workshops to benefit all building trade professionals, code officials and
students. Each workshop provides Continuing Education Units (CEUs),
Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and Learning Units (LUs).
Four half-day workshops on energy codes and related
technical skills are offered at NO CHARGE for eligible
participants* . These workshops, funded by the Texas Workforce Commission,
are based on the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and
related technical skills. These include:
Energy Codes Basic (“2009 IECC
Codes Intermediate (“2009 IECC Overview Intermediate”)
Codes Advanced (“2009 IECC Overview Advanced”)
