      About this Webinar

The REN 21 Global Status Report 2014 provides a comprehensive and timely overview of renewable energy market, industry, investment and policy developments worldwide. The report covers recent developments, current status, and key trends. In 2013 the global renewable energy capacity grew to a new record level — 1,560 gigawatts (GW), up 8.3% from 2012. More than 22% of the world’s power production now comes from renewable sources. This growth can be credited to support policies, especially the increase in the number of developing countries - 95 - which now have renewable energy support policies and/or targets in place. Solar energy technologies saw significant growth over the last year - the total installed capacity of PV increased by 27% to 138 GW, solar water and air collector capacity reached nearly 330 GW-thermal, and concentrated solar power reached 3.4 GW capacity.

During this webinar Christine Lins, Executive Secretary of REN21 will highlight in her presentation the latest data on solar energy technologies, investment and policies. The presentation will be followed by questions and answers with the audience led by the moderator, Dr. David Renné.
