Subject: Cell Phone Towers at Baltimore County Public School Grounds

Let me start by apologizing for using an email list that was used for the General Assembly associational bill discussion. It seemed that an issue facing the Liberty Road Community Council last night had Countywide significance for community associations so I thought this was a good avenue to reach folks.

The Liberty Road Community Council heard that the Baltimore County Public Schools had signed a contract to lease space for cell towers on their property for $1500/month. Forgetting the fiscal issue, the issue we were faced with last night was the “sudden” awareness that an 11-story cell tower could be constructed at Randallstown High by the parking lot and playing fields. The tower and adjacent power building will have a marked impact on the community. The Hearing is next week but very few people were even aware of the issue until last night.

The issue is being addressed for this tower but it is possible that this issue could be one for every community with BCPS property (so every community).

Again, please accept my apology if this email is not something you are interested in.

      Dave Goldman
