Group Description

Beekeepers / Apiarists who produce Honey in bulk and want to link with each other and with our market. This discussion being prompted by the need to distribute peak production in a more orderly fashion, to ensure a more realistic price to beekeepers.
The current prices offered to beekeepers, which are now at levels near or below the direct cost of production, leave little or no return for labour expended. What incentive is there for beekeepers in this present climate of low (getting lower) prices for beekeepers to produce high cost honey?
We invite membership who are sufficiently commercial in their focus/operations to account for most of their occupation, whether that be in production, research, support, government, marketing or publishing. We reserve the right to ignore and reject (without explanation) any approach which in the opinions of the moderators is not commensurate with these goals.

Topical here in 2009:
"The Honey Revolution." By: Dr. Ron Fessenden & Mike McInnes
2008 Discussion included Grace Pundyk’s book, “The Honey Spinner.”
2007 featured Mike and Stuart McInnes’ book, “The Hibernation Diet.”

A whole new understanding of sugar metabolism has been defined. Not only can we burn fat while we sleep, but as part of the recovery process, we can literally turn that fat to use in restoring good health. Honey is proven to be a perfect food to sweeten us up in the process. Well,…… it works, but only if you make certain you use REAL honey. So our bees look like being very much in demand for the health of the coming generation, as substitutes and look-alikes just won't cut it. In fact they are responsible for much of the ill health and sugar diseases we now suffer.
