I had the same problem with Gunk brand chain lube. I've been using Dupont chain saver. It coats the chain with Teflon. I just spray the chain before

 It looks similar to my old cb550, I feel like they went under the Choker Lever ( #10 in your pic), the screw goes into the Choker lever then the spring sits
