Kenyans petition High Court to scrap Parliamentary Service Commission - today
Dear Kenyans and friends of Kenya,
Today (Wednesday, 21st January, 2009) morning at 9.00 am, led by Okoiti Omtatah and George Nyongesa, a group of 17 Kenyans are appearing before Justice Nyamu at the High Court where they have petitioned the High Court for orders to have the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) declared unconstitutional along with the law that created it. Further, they want the High Court to recover all the money and other resources the PSC has squandered on Parliamentarians since 2003.
On Wednesday, December 10, 2008, the 17 Kenyans filed High Court Petition No. 769 of 2008, at the Nairobi Law Courts, requesting that the PSC be scrapped for violating the Constitution of the Republic of Kenya, and for flouting the republican ethics that prohibit public officials from using their offices for unjust enrichment and other forms of personal gain.
You can obtain further information about the case and how you can be involved by visiting www.kejude.org. Please join us as a petitioner by accessing the petition on the website and signing up. Also invite your friends and family to join forces with you and us in ending the culture of impunity in Kenya.
Thanks and regards,
