Fwd: OPERATION SAVE BABY BRIAN
- Dear friends,
A dear friend and fellow VUMA KENYA shaker, Joseph Karoki, featured on his blog a heart wrenching picture of a 14 month baby crying on a bed and his mother dead on the ground, shot by a rogue policeman during security operations in Naivasha. In collaboration with his wonderful friends in Kenya, Joseph was able to relocate poor baby Brian and his family to Gwa Kanywa, Magumu village near Naivasha. (http://josephkaroki.wordpress.com/)
The family needs assistance with funeral, post-mortem costs ($450) and other related costs for family and plans for establishing an educational fund for Brian and his siblings. Our goal is to raise $5000 in the next 2 weeks.
Joseph has therefore started a fundraising initiative and VUMA KENYA will be collaborating with him by collecting money on his behalf. Please forward this email to all your friends and log on to our website (www.vumakenya.org) to donate money to this cause. If you would like further information please send an email to Joseph at josephkaroki@..., or to Lillian at loumso2002@.... And Joesph's Cell Phone numbers are 214-708-1554 and 214-208-4713.
We are called for a time such at this. If you are an attorney in Kenya willing to help or if you know of one who is willing to partner with us in bringing justice to this family, contact Joeseph ASAP. Tell your friends, your family, your coworkers. If you are a well wisher in Kenya who would like to visit the family they are at Gwa Kanywa, Magumu village near Naivasha.
THE FOLLOWING IS WHAT IS NEEDED:
30,000 Kenya Shillings (US$425) for funeral and Mortuary expences
Milk for Baby Brian
Food for his siblings
Clothes, toys and Books
Well wishers to visit and encourage the family
A scholarship/educational fund for Brian and his siblings
