      Of course, Michel Plasse will always be remembered as the first professional goalie to score a goal. As a member of the Kansas City Blues of the old CHL, he shot the puck into an empty OKC net on Feb. 21, 1971 to cement his name in hockey history.

      I remember Plasse playing for the Fort Worth Texans of the old CHL in 1980. The Texans were a Colorado Rockies farm club and faced Salt Lake in the Adams Cup finals that season with the Golden Eagles winning the series in seven games. I will never forget Plasse's look of sadness and disappointment as he left the ice after losing game 7. He played well in the series, and it must have been tough to end up losing in the finals. Even though Plasse had played several years in the NHL (and returned for another season with Quebec the following season), that expression on his face demonstrated the competitive love of the game and that no matter where you play, you want to win.
