The movie name " Vợ Chồng A Phủ" ( A Phủ ~ tub fwj ), means "
A. Phu husband and wife.
This couple Maiv and Fwj, in the film, Vietnamese name is Mị ( Mim )
and a Phủ ( Fwj ).
The film's writer is Tô Hoài ( a vietnamese writer ).
It was about Hmong Vietnam in the North West, who follow communist
revolution and anti Hmong "high class":
The story began at the end of the French colonial time, til after The
August Revolution in 1945 in North Vietnam.
Two main characters are A Phu and Mi, a poor Hmong couple. They were
ruled by Pa Tra, the village Hmong leader who co-operate with the
French, dispoiled the people. He took Mim home to force her being his
son's 2nd wife, and captured APhu to work for him for life.
Mi and A Phu escaped together and got married laterly.
