African History Research Specialist Runoko Rashidi will be speaking
Saturday, May 13, 2000 at 4:00 pm at the St. James Presbyterian Church
in Harlem, New York. St. James Presbyterian is at 141 St. Nicholas Ave.
in New York City. The topic is "The South Pacific through African
Eyes." As with most of Rashidi's presentations this one will be vividly
illustrated with slides from his recent travels to Hawaii and Fiji.
Runoko Rashidi is the author of African Classical Civilizations and the
editor, with Dr. Ivan Van Sertima, of the African Presence in Early
Asia. He proudly boasts that he is an African "thoroughly in love with
African people." To date, Rashidi has lectured at more than 110
colleges and universities and on every continent save Antarctica.

educational tour entitled "Looking at Aboriginal Australia through
