The NOLA FOR LIFE Jobs & Opportunity Expo will be held at Gallier Hall on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm!
This Expo will include:
ü On-site Interviews for Currently Available Jobs
ü Resource Fair (Training/ Job Opportunities & Social Services)
ü Free Job Readiness Workshops
ü Meet & Network with Industry Professionals
In preparation for the Expo, the Office of Workforce Development in partnership with JOB1 and Goodwill will host a “Job Readiness Boot Camp” NEXT WEEK. The Boot Camp will focus on effective resume writing and interviewing, proper business etiquette and attire and mock interviews.
Pre-registration for the boot camp will include the opportunity interface with hiring managers the day of the Expo and receive free transportation provided by the Regional Transit Authority (RTA). Please note: All participants must attend all four days of training (October 7th-10th) to receive the ticket/invite to participate in the hiring portion the Expo.

The NOLA FOR LIFE Jobs & Opportunity Expo is sponsored by NOLA FOR LIFE and the City’s Office of Workforce Development, along with Goodwill Industries and the federal Office of Probation and Parole. Partnerships with the Louisiana Office of Corrections, the Regional Transit Authority and numerous NOLA FOR LIFE social service partners have also helped to make the Expo possible.
The Expo, specifically designed to create pathways towards opportunity and away from violence, invites residents between the ages of 16 to 30 to participate. Registrants will have the opportunity to sign up for resources provided by nearly 30 local institutions and NOLA FOR LIFE partners including information on skills development, apprenticeship programs, social service offerings and access to full-time employment that does not require more than a GED or High School Diploma.
