Does your religion or anything that you have seen or experience have anything to say about healing?
Hi Tonks, wonderful to hear from you again. Actually our current discussion is "The spiritual teachings in Harry Potter", so if you could day something about that we'd be very grateful.
I am going to answer your question briefly in this group in terms of the symbolism in Harry Potter.
Then I'm going to give the rest of my answer in our other group, which deals with spiritual things when they're not related to Harry Potter.
It's a group called Summa Scientia
("The highest knowledge"). http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/summa-scientia/
. The messages are public so anyone can read them.
In my opinion the highest form of spiritual healing is symbolised in Harry Potter in Part 5. In Chapter 7 Harry enters the Ministry of Magic to attend his hearing. He sees the fountain with the golden statues, and the money lying in the pool. The sign indicates that the money is for St Mungo's hospital. Harry promises to put ten Galleons is if he's not expelled from Hogwarts. But when the hearing is over, Harry turns his moneybag upside down and empties the whole contents into the pool.
That is an extremely beautiful and precise bit of symbolism about healing.
Before I explain it I want to go back and just remind everyone of the background of my assertions. This needs to be seen in the context of my explanations of the symbolism as a whole. For new members, this can be found on the website on the Symbolism and Alchemy Pages. http://harrypotterforseekers.com/
Harry symbolises the New Soul that is born in a person who has a Lilybud in their heart, and a stag that thirsts for God (See Psalm 42). Gold symbolises eternal things. A New Soul that is born according to the archetype of the eternal human being, the Child of God, has lots of Gold. He is quite well off in spiritual gold, as we know when Harry visits Gringott's for the first time.
What is spiritual gold? You'll all be familiar with the halos painted around angels and saints on old paintings. This tradition is based on the fact that a truly spiritual person, i.e. a person with a New Soul, has a golden aura, especially around the head. He literally radiates gold around him. In addition he has the ability of concentrating his spiritual gold into any direction he chooses, and by concentrating and obeying the will of God he can give this gold to any person who could benefit. When people with a New Soul join together to form a group, they can pool this spiritual gold and make it available for each other in moments when they need it, for example in sickness. They will come together to do this, focusing their attention on a fountain in the middle of a temple somewhere, and concentrate their spiritual gold there. People who are ill can then focus their attention on the same fountain, and ask for help. This spiritual gold will
then assist their new soul to overcome difficulties in the Path back to God. This gold doesn't help the old earthly personality, but only the New Soul, and so it wouldn't be able to help someone without a New Soul. This Soul will use this Gold to gain strength on the Path and could certainly help in a process of healing where this hampers progress on the Path.
This 'gold' is composed of mental, astral and etheric substance of an extremely high vibration. It is therefore accessible only to those whose motives are very pure and who are undergoing the process of transmutation and purification.
Note that Harry gives ALL the gold he has with him. This symbolises the generosity of the New Soul. When you have a New Soul you will always share your spiritual gold with everyone, especially those who need it.
I can't go into greater detail here, because these things are very sublime, and people who are not spiritual will try to see whether there is any advantage to be gained for selfish ends. That would defile these sublime things and sully them.
However I can assure you that when you have a New, immortal Soul, this practice of giving 'gold' and receiving it when you need it, brings you into a very strong, personal bond with God, and is able to raise you up into the highest heights of spiritual peace and joy.
I will stop here and continue in Summa Scientia.
Love from Hans
