  • I guess it is time to stop emails again. The children here don't know how to act civil. Bill in Texas --- On Sun, 5/31/09, Arye P. R. wrote: From: Arye P. R. • Hi, Funny, I got the new Spring "NRS" catalog today and was just looking at both the ENO single (16 oz) and double (20 oz) Hammock they sell. The price is sure right. I had a good look at their ENO "Slap Strap" tree huggers. They weigh in at about 5 ounces. • HI, Yes, the vent pipe has to go out of your enclosure. I just called Doug at TC. He said one load of wood would only last 30 minutes or so before you would need to start adding some more wood. The stove is not very large - 6.25" by 12" long. He said he has had folks tell him they used charcoal. He thinks your tent or what ever you were in might allow enough outside air to get in...

  • Hi Ed, I don't know anyone that has used one of these. I talked to Doug last week about something and just had a look over the things he sells. I was really surprised at the low weight of his lightest stove. On the question about using charcoal, I think charcoal puts of carbon monoxide which would not be so good. It might be fun to do some testing with one of these. At 17 ounces...

  • Hi, Check out one of these wood stoves from Titanium Goat. Look at the lightest version. Just over 1 pound. http://www.titaniumgoat.com/cstove.html If you had something like a tent around and over your hammock one of these might work. If it was setup right you might be able to feed the stove without getting out of your hammock. Bill in Texas --- On Fri, 1/2/09, ginohav wrote: From...

  • Here is a link to my "Spreader Bar Hammock. I have made 4 like this and they sleep really well. You just need to use material that is a bit stronger than normal. I use part of each of my two trekking poles at night to spread the ends. http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/xdpy/forum_thread/3030/index.html?skip_to_post=22585#22585 Bill in Texas...

  • Hi Ed, It was way off-topic for the group I moderate so for that group it was same as spam. Yes, I looked at it. The pictures were nice so it may not have been bad spam but I still think it was spam. This is your group so it is your call.
