      Hi all -

I took my Hennessy along this past weekend for a snow camping trip in
Yosemite and thought I'd share a quick trip report and some pictures.

My original plan was to test the "snow trench" idea I'd mentioned a few
weeks ago, as well as test the use of a poncho tarp in place of the
stock tarp that came with the hammock.

The snow was no longer deep enough to support the trench test, but I
did use the poncho tarp, which worked great. Temperatures were pretty
mild - in the high 40s/low 50s F during the day, and dropping to no
lower than 29 at night - and there was a constant mild breeze, but no
strong wind and only a light sprinkle of rain at one point. I slept on
a single layer of blue closed cell foam, plus a Ther-a-Rest Prolite 3
pad, and was toasty warm with a 20° down bag.

Anyway, here's a picture of my site (I found a spot on a slope where
      the snow had melted away):

(The "2 minutes" comment in the caption is directed at those on the
trip who spent significant time digging platforms for, then pitching,
      pyramid tarps.)

Here's the hammock with the Integral Designs poncho tarp attached. I
was pleased with the nice, taut pitch it allowed:

      - Steve
