i hope i`m not to much out of line here, but someone is wanting to
do a dayhike on the saurtown mt trail, from pilot mt state park to
haning rock state park, NC. it`s 20 (mostly level) miles w/ the main
challenge being lots of cold weather creek crossings on a trail mainly
for horse riders (no bridges or rock foot crossings). probably not to
many horses this time of year. i only mention this here because i know
there are several nc hammockers w/ this group. also, this fellow who
wants to do this hike listened w/ intrest as i described my new found
way of sleeping. mabey i`ll take a light hammock & give him & others
a chance to check it out at lunch break. he`s posting this dayhike on
4 or 5 other web site (some for NC, one for AT, one national), so
there could be several there who have herd of this growing "hammock
movement". anyway, it`ll be a chance to meet some new folks & see
what this near-by trail actualy looks like. ...slowhike
