speaking of mt rodgers, i was using aquamira this weekend. i have
always used a pur/katadin hiker before & was a little concerned even
after i poured water through the mesh strainer (from gossamer gear) &
waited over an 1/2 hour. for those not familiar w/ that area, there
are lots of horse trails, wild ponys, & cattle being free ranged in
the warmer months. not to mention the wildlife & lots of people. so
far os good. if i start to bubble, i`ll let you know. ...slowhike

Four pills and you're done, if it really was giardia, that is, most cases
        are bacterial anyway.
Called Fasigyn, or generic name tinidizole. I have some from Mexico, never
        used it. Commonly used
for decades except not in U.S. Said to be favored by Special Forces troops.
Far less side effects than the usual nasty Flagyl stuff prescribed here.
Just don't take it with alcohol, definitely not with absinthe.
