      You don't have to wrap the treehuggers around twice. If you wrap them
      around once, put the ends together, and string the hammock support
      through the hugger loops. Then loop it around and string it through
      again. This will allow you to start the figure 8. I did this last
      night on a smooth-bark tree and it worked fine.

      Also, you can wrap it around "almost twice" where there's a big space
      between the hugger loops. Just run the rope between them, wrap the
      free end once around the standing end, and you'll be able to do the
      figure 8 again.
