Group Description

This site honors the work of Jürgen Habermas, as text, influence, adversary, and exemplar—primarily as philosopher, yet also as theorist and public intellectual.

New readers: See the authoritative Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy article "Habermas". The "Group Website" below provides further information and resources. Subscription includes persons from more than 15 countries. Be assured that, if you subscribe, you will not receive useless postings.

I wish that non-members could post, but this causes spam. Anyone can join, but indicating that option allows non-members to post (Yahoo! platform constraints). So, membership has to be pro forma approved. All will be approved (except spammers!). Please post thoughtfully. I want to promote academic usefulness of this site and progressive practices. (I don't want to be a gatekeeper, but postings have to be approved. I'm in Berkeley: GMT-7:00, so be patient about the fact that I sleep.) Please post in English.

Thanks for your interest!

Gary E. Davis (list owner)
