      Hi Matt,

Visual MODFLOW 4.3 and Visual MODFLOW 2009.1 are supported on Windows Vista Ultimate, Business and Enterprise Editions, as well as Windows XP Pro (both 32 and 64 bit operating systems). Please note that Visual MODFLOW is not tested nor supported on any Home Editions.
The issue you are experiencing may be related to running the software on the Windows Vista Home Edition. You may want to consider using the XP Pro desktop to create the *avi files since that is working successfully.

Please do not hesitate to contact us directly at sws-support@... if you would like to discuss this issue further.

Only faint titles and scales are visible, but no actual animation is recorded. I can confirm that playback is not the issue as I tried exporting the file on my desktop computer and that version worked fine on both computers (and the washed-out version was no better on the desktop).
