It's been a while since I used Visual MODFLOW, but I don't think it has changed wrt to handling of the STR data. Although VMF does support the STR package, it does so using an object-oriented, grid-independent approach rather than a cell-by-cell approach. As such, the original cell-by-cell data provided in a standard MODFLOW data set cannot be imported into the stream objects supported in Visual MODFLOW. However, if you place the original STR file in the project folder, Visual MODFLOW will recognize it and use it when you run the simulation. Unfortunately, it will not allow you to display the data or edit the data file using the Visual MODFLOW graphical environment.

Hi All:I am working on updating a existing model created in groundwater vistas, however, VMF does not import the stream file. Thus I am trying to read in the existing .str file into VFM and it is working. I would like to import rather than create a new routing because they are numerous reaches and segments with varying stream width, conductivities, etc...Does anyone have experience with importing the .str files into VMF that you could impart to me.Best Regards,Lansana CoulibalyWarning: Information provided via electronic media is notguaranteed against defects including translation and transmission errors. If the reader is not the intended recipient, you are hereby notified that any dissemination, distribution or copying of this communication is strictly prohibited.
