The Mc Doom resident who was shot after entering his yard on Wednesday is
in stable condition and recovering at the Georgetown Hospital.

Rizwan Khan, 43, was shot at 9 pm (21:00 hrs) by one of three armed bandits.
The men had apparently gone into his yard with the intention of breaking
      into his house.

According to official police reports a man ran from under his house, shot
him in the right side of his chest and escaped.

Khan was taken to the Georgetown Hospital for medical attention and was
admitted. Investigations are continuing. Khan, who lives alone, is President
      of the Guyana Heritage Society.

The society has the aim of promoting knowledge of and preserving the social
and material heritage of Guyana. The society is involved in activities such
as special lectures, reprinting of rare books, offering visits to places of
historical importance and guided tours of historical Georgetown by
      arrangement.

It is affiliated to the National Trust and the Guyanese Heritage Museum.

        Hello John

It is very sad news to hear.

I hope Mr Khan recovers and gets back on his feet.

It seems that know one is immune from the Violence that has engulfed Guyana.

The Violence is governing the way people are living their lives as they can't freely go about their business without having to put up with such vile attacks.

I hope that the Security situation in Guyana can be sorted out for once and for all as the way it is going there won't be many who will be staying and it also diminishes how Heritage and History as many won't ever return.

        Regards

        Jon
