Fw: Review of the Medical Literature Relative to Gulf War Veterans' Health
- Just so you all know, I didnt say I would not be apartof the issue to the IOM. I said I would be mobile, unsurewhere I will be this year. This still doesnt excuse the fact that no one wasinvited or attended the opening IOM meeting in February. They know better now.SincerelyKirt P. I am very sorry for the oversight in not specifically inviting you to address the new IOM committee on Gulf War and Health. I directed my staff to invite VSOs and to ask them to pass the invitation on. I would have certainly included you, but my last conversation with you, if I recall correctly, discussed your leaving town and going out west. I didnt realize you were back in this business and I do apologize.
Please know you are very welcome to attend our open meeting on Wednesday, April 20; the open session is from approximately 10:15 AM to 4 PM. You are also welcome to join us for lunch. The meeting will be held at our building located at 500 Fifth Street NW. The meeting will be in room 109 and I look forward to seeing you. I hope you are well.

Hi Kirt, we did have our last meeting yesterday. The report now needs additional work, editing, verifying numbers and references and external review. I suspect we will have prepublication copies available in April or May, primarily depending on the editors schedule and the length of time the review takes. Id like to provide interested parties and VSOs with a courtesy prerelease briefing when the report is complete.
Well also be happy to send you the report when it is released. Im not sure we have your up-to-date mailing info, so please let me know your preferred mailing address.
FYI, the stress committees PTSD subcommittee is having an open meeting on February 13 probably from late morning until the end of the day. A fact sheet about the PTSD study is attached. The stress committee has formed a subcommittee to address the diagnosis and treatment section of the study. Regards, Carolyn
