Christian Manuscripts and Divination

There are plenty of examples of "amulets" and the like which were clearly
used for divination. The Lord's prayer and the Psalms were most common on
amulets in Christian circles.
Eusebius and Augustine condemned the carrying of amulets. The Synod of
Laodicea (A.D. 342-381) went so far as to forbid their manufacture and use,
ordering that anyone found wearing an amulet be cast out of the church.
Chrysostom also mentions their magical use.
For a good (and easily accessible) summary of info about amulets and
Christian divination (if this is indeed what you are asking about) see,
Kruger, Michael J. "P.Oxy. 840: Amulet or Codex?" Journal of Theological
Studies 53, no. 1 (2002): 81-94.
Kruger lists a host of manuscripts containing scriptural quotations that
were obviously used for divination.
Hope that helps,
