Pouring wet on CSG at 9am.

The sun came out en route to Southwark Needle. Only two of us rode the
north route to Woolwich Ferry......two bikes and 9 cars on board. Never
      seen it so empty.

We got to Deptford Green just as the procession started. Probably 200
people at first, it grew. A band at each end. A 12 foot Jack in the
Green and associated motley musicians, drummmers, dancers, stick
throwers, fancydressers, one sweep, one bear, two fecund milkmaids
....wonderful crowd. A dozen bikers off these lists. Lots of local
stops....St Nix, Watergate, Twinkle Park, Shipwrights House (free beer),
Dog and Bell, Dacca Street (to recreate the 1906 photo), the Sayes Court
Park mulberry tree....a few locals joined in....not enough....too many
curious kids dragged back inside by olders. To Sky or whatever.
They said it was a celebration to mark the start of summer and the
diversity of us. And it was. Fabulous stuff. The colour, the music, the
energy, silliness, respect for various roots.

May Day should be marked. And it was well.
