Lewisham Cyclists AGM - 15th December 2005
- Lewisham Cyclists would like to invite you to our Annual General Meeting to be held at the Civic Suite , Catford (Committee Room 2) on Thursday 15th December 2005 from 7 to 9pm.Darren Johnson, GLA assembly member, recently led an GLA investigation into the London Cycle Network Plus (LCN+) project and has kindly agreed to speak about the scrutiny report and then take questions ( http://www.london.gov.uk/assembly/reports/transport/cyclenetwork.pdf ). Darren will be able to explain what London Boroughs will need to do to complete the network by 2009/10.
In Lewisham Cyclists input into the recent draft Local Implementation Plan( http://www.lewisham.gov.uk/TransportAndStreets/TransportPolicy/LocalImplementationPlan.htm) we raised the issue of the borough signing up to the Road Danger Reduction plan rather than traditional road safety planning strategy. What is the road danger reduction plan? We are pleased to have speaking at the meeting, Richard Lewis, who as a transport strategist has written council policies for Boroughs such as Brent.
We do hope you can make the meeting. These issues are of increasing importance and will feature strongly in the local elections next year.
We have invited all the Lewisham councillors as well as many of the borough's officers, it should be an interesting meeting.
