New cycle lane in Plumstead Road
Highway work on the east bound approach only of Plumstead Road to its junction with Burrage Road and Arsenal Way was programmed to start on the 21st July. It involves the widening and realignment of the carriageway and the introduction of a cycle lane all as the S278 Agreement between the Royal Borough of Greenwich (RBG) and the Berkeley Group, the developer of the adjacent site on the Woolwich Arsenal. The work will be carried out by the RBG contractor, J B Riney, and managed and supervised by RBG officers. The cost of the work together with RBG fees will be paid by the Developer. The work should last for 3 months and is being coordinated to minimise disruption through off peak working and by maintaining running traffic lanes as much as possible. This is the first phase of work affecting the highway. Other phases will follow.
