Fw: We're being attacked - will you stand with us? (Humane Society of the US)
Rick Berman, leader of a front group which supports animal abuse called HumaneWatch, is a subhuman who needs to be stopped. It's amazing how much time, effort, and money he spends to try to crush anything good we're trying to do for the animals. He is a monster.
Please join me in supporting HSUS to fend off such a despicable menace. I hope HSUS, and any other group that is attacked, files a lawsuit for slander and/or libel. This is becoming ridiculous. And who is suffering? The animals who need our help.

The Humane Society of the United StatesThe ad during last Sunday’s Oscars was only the latest in a string of attacks on us.
Please stand with The Humane Society of the United States.
Donate today to stop puppy mill and factory farm cruelty.Trouble with links or images? View this message online.March 1, 2012Dear Deedee,
If you watched the Oscars last Sunday night, you might have seen it: A phony "consumer alert" ad attacking The Humane Society of the United States.
Your HSUS is under attack by a shadowy front group called HumaneWatch, which placed that ad. Led by a notorious D.C. lobbyist who will do anything for a buck, the group is funded by unknown special interests that want to stop you and me from fighting against animal cruelty in all its forms - especially in our nation’s puppy mills, factory farms, and other industries that profit from animal abuse.
Will you stand with me today on the side of protecting animals? Please donate $25, $50, or even $100 to our new HSUS Fund to Stop Rick Berman’s Campaign for Cruelty.
Our goal is to raise $250,000 for this new fund -- with $125,000 going to fight puppy mill cruelty, and $125,000 going to take on factory farming abuses. I started the fund off earlier this week with my own personal donation of $500. Will you join me?
Dubbed "Dr. Evil" on CBS’s "60 Minutes," lobbyist Rick Berman has pocketed a fortune serving as a front man who fight laws against drunk driving, smoking, and animal cruelty for corporations that want to stay in the shadows. This is just the latest in a series of attacks on The HSUS by Berman’s group, which has spent untold amounts of money putting up billboards in New York City, placing ads in major national newspapers, and putting phony commercials into circulation, just like the one it did this week.
Mr. Berman doesn’t attack us because we are ineffective. In fact, it’s just the opposite: He knows we are relentless and successful in our campaigns against animal cruelty. He knows that we are rated the number-one high impact animal charity in America by Philanthropedia. He knows that Charity Navigator gave us its highest rating -- four stars.
Above all, he attacks us because he knows we are a threat to business as usual -- business that profits from the suffering of animals. He and the animal exploiters that pay him want nothing more than for us to go away.
But we won’t go away. Because together, we’ll build on our recent victories rescuing dogs from a lifetime of misery in large-scale puppy mills. Together, we’ll keep making gains against inhumane factory farming practices -- such as the extreme confinement of breeding pigs in tiny metal cages. Together, we’ll continue to demand that animals be treated humanely -- and together, we’ll succeed.
Take a stand against Rick Berman and the industries that pay him, the industries that profit from the suffering of animals. Please make your emergency gift to the HSUS Fund to Stop Rick Berman’s Campaign for Cruelty today.
Thank you for all you do for animals.
