Group Description

Welcome to Greene County Virginia Area Homeschoolers! Greene County Virginia Area Homeschoolers (GCVAH) is a Christian organization which provides support and encouragement to parents who are teaching their children at home and those considering homeschooling. Since the Word of God, the Bible, guides this organization, we seek to support each other in ways it describes. In God’s Word we are commanded to “stimulate one another to love and good works” (Hebrews 10:24), “to train up a child according to God’s Word” (Proverbs 22:6) and “encourage one another daily” (Hebrews 3:13). This group is a Christian group, but invites all faiths (or no faith) to participate.

Our plan for the 2017-2018 school year is to meet two- three times a month for activities led by group parents. One will be more academic (teaching skills, field trips, etc.), and one will be more social (games, sports, etc.). These meeting times together also offer good opportunities for parents to encourage each other in homeschooling.

Our email loop helps keep us connected about group and other relevant events, curriculum to buy, sell, or borrow, etc.

The picture that you see is of our end of the year picnic and water balloon fight!
