GRAVITY NEWS 10
Much seems to be happening in gravity news as well as in propulsion news. Some may be questionable such as the first item that I link in as news, but as it is being repeated by many sources, I have decided to go ahead and post on this after waiting for further confirmation long enough. Perhaps if it seems too good to be true, well you decide;
Presidential Directive opens door for release of antigravity technology
"Prior to his current appointment as Obama's National Security Advisor, General James Jones was involved in a secretive Boeing Corporation effort to declassify antigravity technology for commercial application. Classified antigravity technologies have been kept from the public realm for over six decades while being secretly developed by military-corporate entities. The door may now be open for the release of such technology.
Classified antigravity technologies have been kept from the public realm for over six decades while secretly developed by military-corporate entities. It was revealed in 1992, for example, that the B-2 Bomber used electrostatic charges on its leading wings and exhaust. According to aerospace experts, this was confirmation that the B-2 used electrogravitic principles based on the Biefeld-Brown Effect. The Biefeld-Brown Effect is based on the research of Thomas Townsend Brown who in 1928 gained a patent for his practical application of how high voltage electrostatic charges can reduce the weight of objects. The B-2 bomber employs sufficiently high voltages to significantly reduce its weight. This enables the B-2 and other classified antigravity vehicles to display flight characteristics that appear to defy conventional laws of physics. The idea that advanced antigravity technologies exist and have been developed by military-corporate entities is supported by the former CEO for Lockheed Skunk works. Ben Rich said:
"We already have the means to travel among the stars, but these technologies are locked up in black projects and it would take an act of God to ever get them out to benefit humanity.. anything you can imagine we already know how to do. "" "
This Gravity Mapping mission is well documented on the other hand and has some interest.
The European Space Agency has launched its Goce gravity mapping satellite.
"Goce left Earth at 1421 GMT on a modified intercontinental ballistic missile from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in north-west Russia.
The mission will give scientists new insights into how the interior of the planet is structured and provide key information on how the oceans move.
The satellite is part of an armada of European spacecraft being sent up to study the planet. "
GOCE: Orbiting on the edge
" Orbiting on the edge of space at just 268 km, GOCE would have a mere eight days before sinking dangerously low if its ion propulsion should fail. Some of the first responders who would have to react in such a contingency are the flight dynamics specialists on ESA's Operations Team.
To achieve the mission's crucial scientific objectives, ESA's GOCE (Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer) must orbit as low as possible, in order to sense minute variations in the Earth's gravitational field (see links for background on mission objectives). "
Perhaps the following is little more than a stabilizer, but even gyros should have some form of backup as witnessed by the CMG's on the ISS, so this little propulsion mite deserves mention in the propulsion area;
ESA designs its smallest ever space engine to push back against sunshine
"This month an ESA team is preparing to test the performance of the smallest yet most precisely controllable engine ever built for space, sensitive enough to counteract the force of incoming sunshine.
Measuring only ten centimetres across and emitting a faint blue glow as it runs, the Field Emission Electric Propulsion (FEEP) engine produces an average thrust equivalent to the force of a single falling hair. But despite its low power, FEEP's thrust range and controllability are far superior to more forceful thrusters, holding the key to future success of an ambitious ESA science mission. "
Ah, here is the link to a video on YouTube that shows an astronaut demonstrating the gyroscopic forces that are demonstrated by even a small CD player in space. As he adds more and more CD players the resulting Gyroscopically Stabilized Platform is actually quite impressive. A must view for those that are attempting to understand that gyroscopes do function in space as well as how they function. I highly recommend review of this little space experiment.
