      Hi List,
      there exists a small Java Virtual Machine for microconrollers
      from RealTimeComputing (http://www.rtjcom.com), that can be
      implemented on the 68hc11. It's called SimpleRealTimeJava
      (simpleRTJ). It occupies ~20K, so on a 64K board
      there's enough memory left for Java applications. Java programs
      can be written/compiled using standard development tools.
      Class Files are packed with the simpleRTJ ClassLinker program
      before download into the uC. simpleRTJ has a very limited API,
      but is interestung to experiment with. It needs no underlying OS;
      Java-Threads are fully supported.
      On http://www.nnTec.de/microcontroller.html you can find
      startup code for the JVM, ready for the gcc-68hc11 patch.

      ...just to let you know...
      Cheers, Ingo.
