As long as you have a library card, the database of 19th Century British
Library Newspapers can now be accessed from home through the Gloucestershire
      Libraries website
      www.libraries.gloucestershire.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=10789 The database
contains full runs of 48 influential national and regional newspapers
representing different political and cultural segments of 19th century
British society. Like The Times Digital Index, you can seach for a word or
phrase and then view articles containing your search terms. It does not
include any Gloucestershire newspapers at present, but it does have
Birmingham and Bristol papers that do include reports on Gloucestershire
      happenings.
