The Record Office's latest Annual Report, 2000-2001, has just been
published. Copies will be circulated to local history societies and others
who have traditionally received copies, and a supply is available in the
searchroom for individuals to pick up (free of charge). Anyone who is
unlikely to be visiting the office in the near future but would like to
receive a copy is welcome to send me a message off-list - please give your
name and address!
The Annual Report is the Record Office's principal vehicle for communicating
information about the development and direction of the service to our users
and depositors. This year's report is larger and glossier than previous
issues, and contains a full list of accessions during the year, many of
which have yet to be catalogued. It also contains a number of photographs,
including several views of Rodmarton from a sketchbook of the Lysons family
(1820s); an early photograph of schoolchildren in Cheltenham (1865) and
decorative details from additional Badminton estate maps received this year
