Malcolm Pirnie is seeking a GIS Specialist to work in our White Plains, NY office. This position will support environmental and civil engineering projects by applying and promoting GIS technologies in the following areas: Watershed Management (watershed assessment, H&H and water quality modeling support, planning), Environmental studies (GPS-based field support, sample data management, and mapping); Civil engineering (water/sewer conveyance system planning, modeling and management); Mapping and data conversion (georeferencing, digitizing, conversion specifications, conversion management), GIS Implementation services (needs assessment, specifications development, training, application development); Database Design/GIS Design (planning and implementing GIS designs in an engineering environment, developing database designs for internal analytical use and for client focused GIS applications).
The GIS Specialist will occassionally demonstrate software applications and provide application training to staff and clients. Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills, and solid engineering judgement are essential. The candidate should be famaliar with ESRI ArcGIS products, spatial data issues (projections, cooridinate systems, data sources), and database design. Experience with GIS applications in a civil or environmental engineering environment is preferred. Famaliarity with application development in an ArcGIS desktop, enterprise and/or WEB enviroment(ArcGIS desktop, ArcIMS, ArcSDE, MapGuide), GPS skills, and 40-hour health and safety training are desirable. Must have a BS or MS degree in Civil / Environmental engineering, Geography, or Earth Sciences. At least 1-2 years of relevant experience also required.

- Urban Planning Research Internship
Urban Mapping is a Manhattan-based company that uses proprietary technology
create unique maps and other spatially-configured products for

position is primarily research-oriented and will involve research into the
