NYS CSCIC is pleased to announce that the 2006 2-foot resolution imagery of the NY Statewide Digital Orthoimagery Program (NYSDOP) for New York City is available for viewing via a NEW web map service (WMS) published by USGS-EROS. The NEW WMS for this imagery can be found at the following URL:
Instructions for using the web map service are available at the following URL:
The older NYSDOP data is on both the original WMS URL and the new WMS URL. The old WMS URL will be available until May 2, 2008. At that date, USGS-EROS will discontinue the old service. USGS-EROS is working on loading the remainder of the 2006 NYSDOP imagery into the web service.
CSCIC is responsible for distributing the 2-foot resolution imagery to NY State Agencies (preferably through their main offices), local municipalities, school districts, or non-profit organizations who are members of the NY State GIS Cooperative.
The New York City Dept. of Information Technology & Telecommunications (DOITT) is responsible for distributing the 2-foot resolution imagery to NYC Agencies and all other organizations. These requests can be directed to:
