I interpret it as showing Tobber: he decided to take a bath before the party, and he spotted something in the bathtub he wanted to tinker with, and lost track

I interpret it as showing Tobber: he decided to take a bath before the party, and he spotted something in the bathtub he wanted to tinker with, and lost track of the time. You know, like you do.
