If we can agree that Klaus does nothing without a very good reason, and he would hardly be willing to waste a perfectly good spark on a fit of pique, then we must consider the possibility that Dr Dim did something VERY nasty to earn brain coring. Consider, Dupree killed one of his charges, then didn't get so much as a slap on the wrist. DuMedd and Sliepnir and the hostages all got directly in his way and just went nappy-time. Othar is a homicidal socio-pathic yadda-yadda-yadda who has directly interfered with Der Baron, and STILL he was only threatened with brain coring (heavily threatened, as in scalpel directly over his melon, but still...) and was given the chance to escape and test Gil.

No, Dr Dim had to have been a VERY bad boy to get the melon baller treatment. Kidnap kids, rape the wife, shoot the dog, burn down the house kind of bad boy. Name one other person who has been "cored". Anybody? Anybody at all? How many people has Klaus directly and willfully tried to kill other than the Other?
