- If you live in a State you also live in a County you also are in a Township
which has a board that sets the budget which you pay taxes to. In most
states they are responsible for the rural cemeteries within their
jurisdiction. If you will go to your courthouse and look at the budget for
your township, it should show about these cemeteries. This is what our
genealogical society found in the state of Kansas.
