- Nov 29, 2003Barb, it depends on the format that you want for your publication.
Is it a book or website? What do you want to include?
The following sites may be helpful:
My experience is limited to only two programs and they are FTM and
RootsMagic which I seldom use. I use FTM to store my information
and especially like the Outline Tree and Genealogy Report that it produces.
I have only produced small family booklets for reunions, but have not
been happy with the "book" or "scrapbook" feature of FTM. I prefer
to take my information to Word and produce it from there inserting
my photos and documents as I wish. This works better for me.
Good luck, Marge

Subject: [genphoto] Family tree Software
This is my first time to post here. I am looking for a good family
tree software program.
I already have my research complete and I'm ready to start on my
publication. However, I would love to find a program where I can
create my tree but also have a seperate page to place information
and photos concerning the individuals.
I just received all of my scanned photos from MyTree
( www.historicalpreservation.org )so I don't need
anything with scanning software and thats the reason why Im looking
for software so I can add my documents and photos. Just simple and
to the point. Thank
you so much for you help.
