The book The Historic Architecture of Pitt County, NC Scott Power,
Editor has a write up and pictures on the B. W. Brown house and the John
Reddin Brown house. The B. W. Brown house was located about one mile
closer to Greenville. It has since been torn down. I took some pictures
of it several years ago. Also the John Reddin Brown house (as Jo
mentioned) has been moved. There is an older picture of it as well as a
more recent one. John Reddin Brown bought 140 acres from Alfred Brown
about 1836 and the house was reportedly built about that time. The B. W.
Brown house was built during the third quarter of the nineteenth
      century.
