      Hello Elizabeth,

I saw your submission on Thomas Stokes to Elizabeth Venter. I have recently
started researching my mother's family and I have a limited amount. I
keep finding several Stokes such as this Thomas but do not know if it is in
my line. This is what I have--does any of it match with your Thomas/

Alfred Britton Stokes (born 1815?) m. Mary?
      their children were
      Francis Marion born 1842, Thomas R.(1844), John H. 1845, Mary Jane 1847,
Alfred Britton Jr., Gennett 1851, William Allen 1853, Tandy Walker 1853,
      Hannah 1854, Julia A. 1859, James M. 1861, Joseph Allen 1863, George 1866
      and Clara 1870.

Tandy Walker Stokes is my great grandfather and he married Mary Arezine
Willis and their son Sidney L. was my grandfather. Any information you
could give me would be very appreciated.

      Thanks
      Sherry Christmas Hicks

      -----My response to original message------
      Hello Sherry,

You must be referring to a marriage record that I posted? I don't have a
Stokes ancestor, but will forward your query to the Pitt Co. Family
Researchers, Inc., mail list. There are several members there who may be
able to help you. I'd recommend that you browse the PCFR website first, and
then follow the instructions there for subscribing to the mail list, the
      Quarterly, or both!

      Go to: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncpcfr/

      Good luck in your quest!

      Elizabeth (Betsy) Ross
