From what I can figure out, the John William Owens (son of William Jr. Owens
(1820 birth date was put in by me to figure out a possible timeline according
to age of children) and Elizabeth Deverson b. 1837 who married Anne are NOT
the parents of the John William Owens who fits into my Owens family.

Willliam Sr. Owens married Temperance Averett and their children started
being born about 1810, so I put an 1820 birth date in for William Jr. Owens just
to figure out a possible timeline according to the birth dates for the other
      children.
      John William Owens b 1837
ANNE OWENS, birth 22 February 1842, died 17 July 1915. Anne married John
William Owens (birth 1837). John William Owens is the son of William and
      Elizabeth Deverson Owens.
From what I can pick out, their children were not born until starting in the
      1860s.....

      Descendants of John Willliam Owens

had children who were born earlier....and were not the children of John
      William Owens who married Anne.

John William Owens ...married Polly Wooten on January 12, 1853...
and their children were born earlier...

So, for now, until I can find other documentation, I will stick with Dempsey
Goodman Owens being the ancestor of this line, with John William Owens who
married Polly Wooten as a brother or half brother of James Gray Owens who married
      Barbara Killebrew.

But, I will also keep an eye open for other documentation just in case
documents show him as the parents of the other John William Owens who married Anne,
but if the dates prove to be close, it looks like he falls in the Dempsey
      Goodman Owens line.

John Owens who married Polly Wooten is the son of Dempsey Owens,
you're correct. The records I have for him all list him as John T.
Owens, not John William Owens, however. As I said before, the John
William Owens who is son of William Owens b. abt 1795 and Elizabeth
        Deverson is a different line.
