Has anyone heard of Haywood Moore "Woody" (b. ca. 1770) who married
Priscilla? I was told his parents were William Moore and Millicent
but I don't have proof. Woody's daughter Susanna Moore married John
Thomas Joyner. Is it possible that Woody was Samuel Moore's older
brother? This side of my family was closely aligned with the
Primitive Baptist Church (Dixon, Bynum, Daniel).

      Help! Liz

Dear Liz, My family is so intermarried with Moores
that it is not funny. I will tell you what I have
learned since starting research on this family a few
years back. Maybe between us, we can make some
        connections.
I have not yet found Millicent. I have gone back
to the 1850 census trying to find neighboring families
with a Millicent. Before 1850, census records name
        only the head of household.
I have been searching cemetery records this week
without results. I have wondered if the new Chronicles
has the answer since I have not seen it yet. I have
gone through every one of my PCFR quarterlies without
        success.
My great grandfather Lemuel McGowan married
Perlina Moore, daughter of Martin Moore. Worthington
men married Moore women as well, and there is a long
        line of them.
I am hoping to find more information from the
books of cemetery records at Joyner. I am planning
also to look at the publications of other groups like
the PCFR whose quarterlies are at Joyner. Somewhere
there has to be a trace.
I keep hoping also to get a chance to look at
death records. Nobody has put the "M's" online at
PCFR. I would not mind doing it, but I have no idea
how to do that even after compiling the information.
I will also ask Bill what he has. He has offered to
share any of his files that I would like to see.
        Later, Carol
