Margaret Hoffman would be great again - even on the same subject - she is a wealth of information! Will there be a "lock down" and free copies again?

I don't have any suggestions at this time, just wanted to let you know how excited I am about the upcoming workshop. I would like to tell everyone who did not attend that the one last fall was outstanding. If at all possible you need to make plans to attend the upcoming one. Rhet Wilkinson

The Edgecombe County Genealogical Society and the Edgecombe County Memorial Library are planning another Workshop in Tarboro on September 23, 2005 . A committee has already been formed to make this a great event. The workshop is in conjunction with the "Historical and Antique Extravaganza" that is being planned for that weekend.

If you remember we had one last year and everyone had a great time. We had hot food, snacks, and door prizes galore, and enough breaks so that everyone was well rested. To top it off we had a lock in that night at our local library for those that could stay to do research and "copies were free".

Our speakers were David Gammon, who's topic was "How To Lose One Ancestor and Gain Another", Margaret Hofmann's topic was "300 Years of NC Land Patents And Land Grants ... Fast:", and Tim Rackley spoke on "Finding A Needle In A Haystack".

We need ideas for speakers and topics that you would like to hear. Or would you like to have the same speakers from last year "if they are willing" only different subjects.

Please, Please let me hear from you. You can email me privately at jowebb@... or to the list.
