Keep looking. My grandmother always told me that I was related to
Jessie James, but she passed before I really cared about it. So now I'm
trying to figure that part out. My grandparents were from the Pitt Co.
Thomas line which married Meeks and Wainwrights.

      Thanks for the information.

Does anyone know where the name Vainwright came from? Is it actually
Vainwright, or a corruption of Wainwright?

      A side note: : ) big grin
Since I am researching the names of my 9 year old grandson's ancestors,
      big
grin, I'm a little disappointed (not really) that his families don't
      connect to
the James family. I read that Frank James, brother of Jesse James, had
      ties
to Pitt County. I think I read that in Roger Kammerer's notes online.
      Sure
would be "cool" for a nine year old.

      Thanks again.
