She didn't. Instead, she told her mother that if the
family continued to insist, she would leave home and
make her own way in the world. In the end, her mother
realized that young Jenny was not going to change her
mind. I believe, though, that the family held out too
long for an anulment to be granted and that the
marriage therefore ended in divorce. Jenny married
again some years later (as you know) John Baker.
Widowed, she married third, my grandfather Alfred
Worthington son of Alfred Worthington and Sarah
Frances McGowan. By the way, Maude McGowan was Jenny's
