      Call for Participation

      The International Conference on Knowledge Based Computer Systems will
      be held in Navi Mumbai, India during December 18 - 21, 2002.
      The conference is intended to act as a forum for promoting interactions
      among researchers in the field of artificial intelligence in India and
      abroad. Over 200 papers were submitted to the conference from across
      the world. After a rigorous international refereeing process, about 50
      papers have been selected, which will be presented during the
      conference. The papers cover the following areas:

      Case Based Reasoning
      Data Mining
      Fuzzy Logic
      Genetic Algorithms
      Intelligent Agents
      Information Retrieval
      Knowledge Representation
      Machine Learning
      Natural Language Processing
      Neural Networks
      Optical Character Recognition
      Planning and Scheduling
      Speech Processing

      Keynote Address
      "Starting with Complex Primitives Pays Off: Complicate Locally, Simplify Globally"
      Professor Aravind Joshi, Co-Director, Institute for Research in
      Cognitive Science at the University of Pennsylvania, USA.

      Invited Talk
      "Qualitative Spatial and Temporal Reasoning"
      Professor Gerard Ligozat, Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris, France.

      Pre-Conference Tutorials
      The conference will feature two full-day tutorials.
      The tutorials will be held on Wednesday, December 18th.

      Case-based Systems
